1. Receive Gods word: accept it.
The book of 1 Peter 5:7, it says: Cast all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. It is clear that God wants you to give him your troubles. Why? Its because God is loving and caring and wants only the best for you. In the book of Jeremiah 29:11, it says: For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Sometimes its hard to believe God wants the best for you when you are going through trials and tribulations. Questions like: Why would a God that I serve put me through so much pain? Stress? Confusion? These questions often follow during times of trials and tribulations; but trails and tribulations aren't easy, and not everything in life is fair. With that in mind, its easy to find reasons why God doesn't love you when times are rough, but in the bible God says that you aren't alone and that he is with you and loves you. In the book of Zephaniah 3:17 it says: The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing. Its understandable to want to run from God when times are hard but in 1 Peter 5:7 God is saying to run to him, not from him. Accepting that God cares and loves you is the first step at leaving your troubles at the cross.
2.Give it all to God: Pray to God and give him your troubles.
Have a simple conversation with God. Pray! Talk with God and tell him everything your going though. Your feelings, good and bad. Things you wouldn't' dare to say out loud and hide nothing. When you are most genuine with God, he will see your heart through your words. Write down what is troubling you and go over each one with God. Then give it to him. Here is a simple prayer: "God, thank you for loving me and caring for me. In your word, it says that you want me to cast my troubles upon you and so I am giving it to you. You know what I am going through and I trust that you will take care of it. I am no longer going to give any power to the things that trouble my mind from here on, because I know that you have it all under control. Thank you"
3. Move forward expecting God to pull though: Act as if God has already taken care of it.
Prayer is meaning less if you don't believe God will send an answer. Why pray if its only empty words? Its likes asking a family member for a favor then walking away without listening for a response. If you know God is all knowing and can do all things, then you should be expecting God to pull through. TRUST! After giving God your problems, you must move forward expecting God to take care it. Sometimes the answer isn't always what we want, when we want it, but none the less, God will pull though and you must believe that. So as you go along your day expect Gods answer! Move forward in confident that everything will be "ok" even if its not how you planned. His plan is far greater and once again, he only wants the best for you.
4. Give Thanks: Thank God for blessing you and taking care of your current trouble.
Often we ask God for help and we get an answer. Hopefully, it aligns with what you want and the answer is in your favor. Its easy to get caught up in the excitement and forget to acknowledge the fact that God has answered you. You should take a minute and pause to thank God for this awesome blessing.
5. Create a Prayers and Blessings journal: log it down.
As Christians we pray a lot and sometimes what we prayed for a year ago is no longer on our minds, but that doesn't mean God doesn't want to bless you with that request. God works on his time and on his time only. There are times that we pray for things, but were not quite ready for. Creating a Prayers and blessings journal will help you keep track of everything. You will get to first hand log down the answers from God on each prayer. Its a great way to reflect on all the many blessings God has put in your life.
6. Pay it forward: Share this blessing with others.
We are blessed with so much! God works beautifully in our lives and why not share it with others. Whatever was troubling you, you gave it to God, and received an answer, now its time to share it with others. There is something you can do to pay it forward. Even if its something as small as encouragement to family and friends, something like this: "If God can help me though this, then I promise you, God will help you though this hard time for you". Find a way to share your blessings with others.
