  • 10 Christian Songs that Inspires You

We live in a world saturated with music and so much of it is filled with negative messages that are the opposite of one who God is and what He has given us. This is not to say that all music is bad or that music is not specifically Christian cannot honor God but Christian music in particular seeks to bring glory to God through the lyrics and message.

Here is CCM’s Top 10 Christian Songs that Inspires You

    Unspoken – Who You Are

In their 2012 hit song “Who You Are”, Christian soulful pop-rock band Unspoken bears witness to the reviving power of God, specifically through the example and teachings of Jesus. It’s never “too late” to turn our life around, and things are never “so bad” that we can’t start giving ourselves to God; each moment of your life is an opportunity to “change who you are.”

Thomas Obadiah Chisolm – Great is Thy Faithfulness

This great hymn of faith was published from a poem in 1923. Although it is not clearly documented, I am always reminded of Lamentations 3:22-23 whenever I hear the song. They are: “It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” Of course this hymn was made popular by the voice of George Beverly Shea in 1945 when he began singing it at the Billy Graham crusades.

    TobyMac – Made to Love

One of the first, and most well-known Christian hip-hop artists, TobyMac, sings about how we were all created out of love and that we were “made” to show our love back to our Creator. A 2008 Grammy nominee for Best Gospel Song, “Made to Love” will definitely stir your soul and have you reflecting on life.

Britt Nicole – Set the World on Fire

Christian singer-songwriter and pop-artist Britt Nicole expresses her desire to God to make a positive difference in the world. Acknowledging that truly achieving her dream of setting “the world on fire” is impossible without the assistance of the Almighty, Nicole sings in her song, “I am weak but…You are strong enough to take my dreams, come and give them wings. Lord with You, there’s nothing I can not do.”

Brandon Heath – Give Me Your Eyes

In his Grammy nominated song “Give Me Your Eyes”, Contemporary Christian musician Brandon Heath yearns to be able to see the world through the eyes of God. The song is a testament to the need for human beings to turn to the teachings of God, rather than solely relying on the conditioning of society, to see the true reality of the world. The song also speaks to the need for us to display compassion and empathy to others, as, unlike God, we don’t truly know what they’re going through in life. As Heath sings in the song, “Give me Your eyes for just one second, give me Your eyes so I can see, everything that I keep missing, give me Your love for humanity.”

    Hillsong– Mighty To Save

Sometimes it's easy to forget how much bigger and stronger God is than any problem. Strong enough to move mountains.

Love & The Outcome–  He is With Us

"We can trust our God; He knows what He's doing. Though it might hurt now, we won't be ruined."I cannot imagine anything more encouraging than knowing that Jesus is with us always. Every hurt will be healed in his time with his presence.

    Jamie Grace – Beautiful Day

Contemporary Christian singer-songwriter and actress Jamie Grace emphasizes a variety of spiritual concepts in her upbeat pop hit “Beautiful Day”. In a song that will have you smiling, grooving, and praising God all at the same time, Grace’s pleasing melodies and joyful lyrics will certainly lift your spirits and have you ready to “get your worship on.”

    Mandisa – Overcomer

"So just hold tight, fix your eyes on the one who holds your life, there's nothing He can't do." Mandisa's powerful voice raises this song, and its inspirational messages make it as one of our top lists.

    Matthew – West More

“I love you more than the sun and the stars that I taught how to shine. You are Mine." We belong to a God who is crazy about us. This song is a beautiful reminder.

  • Top 10 Bible Verses to a Friend in Need

Jesus is the true hope of the world

Isaiah 40:3-4, - “A voice cries, ‘In the wilderness, prepare the way of the Lord: make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill be made low; the uneven ground shall become level, and the rough places a plain. And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”

You may feel in despair and abandoned, but the Lord has not forgotten your plight

Psalm 38:9-10, - “Oh Lord, all my longing is before you my sighing is not hidden from you. My heart throbs; my strength fails me, and the light of my eyes - it also has gone from me… (15) But for you, O Lord, do I wait; it is you, O Lord my God, who will answer.”

The Lord will produce signposts of His coming Kingdom by fighting specifically for those seemingly forgotten by society.

Psalm 82:3-4, - “Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked… (8) Arise, O God, judge the earth, for you shall inherit all the nations.”

Releasing your struggles to the Lord is absolutely freeing

Psalm 73:21-28, - “When I was beleaguered and bitter, totally consumed by envy, I was totally ignorant, a dumb ox in your very presence. I’m still in your presence, but You’ve taken my hand. You wisely and tenderly lead me, and then You bless me. You’re all I want in heaven! You’re all I want on earth! When my skin sags and my bones get brittle, God is rock-firm and faithful. Look! Those who left You are falling apart! Deserters, they’ll never be heard from again. But I’m in the very presence of God - oh, how refreshing it is! I’ve made Lord God my home. God, I’m telling the world what you do!”

We require the Lord’s leading in government

Lamentations 4:17, - “Our eyes failed, ever watching vainly for help; in our watching we watched for a nation which could not save... (5:21) Restore us to yourself, O Lord, that we may be restored!"

To see national restoration, we must pray for our fellow citizens to know the love of Christ

2 Chronicles 7:14,- “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

We may wish to cry, scream, or become unhinged in our emotions, mind or spirit, but we can trust that His love will bring comfort

Zephaniah 3:17, - “'He will quiet you with his love.”

Declare the Lord your impenetrable fortress against any difficulty. Consider your heart and spirit locked securely in hope, surrounded completely by God’s truth

Zechariah 9:12, - “Return to your stronghold, O prisoners of hope.”

The Lord is victorious; He will produce justice and joy in and through you

Isaiah 29:19,- “The castoffs of society will be laughing and dancing in God, the down-and-outs shouting praise to The Holy of Israel.”

Salvation is not found within ourselves and our strength, but only through God’s grace

Jonah 2:6, - “Yet you brought my life up from the pit… Salvation belongs to the Lord.”

  • Scripture of the Day

1 John 1:9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Those who confess sins are reassured that God will forgive, and remove that sin's impact on fellowship. Note that even though this passage is written to believers, John states that those who confess sins are both forgiven and cleansed. Though believers are forgiven at the point of salvation, there is also an ongoing sense in which believers need to confess sin and experience forgiveness and cleansing. Cleansing was an important part of the Mosaic Law, mentioned some 14 times in the book of Leviticus alone. It was the goal of those who brought a sacrifice to the Lord in the tabernacle and temple.

When we have an argument with others, it creates a barrier to fellowship. Since a barrier between us and God will always be our fault, our need for confession is important for our relationship to God.

  • A Powerful Prayer Tips

Prayer is one of the oldest forms of devotion on the planet. It is a source of joy, comfort and spiritual upliftment for millions of people the world over and still remains one of the most effective means of connecting with God. It can be as simple as a "thank you" to the universe, or deep and holy prayer uttered from the heart. Here are some simple practices you can use to increase the power of your own prayer:

    Be specific

The more specific you are in your prayers, the better God is able to answer you. As long as you are living your life in harmony and devoting your energy to helping others, God will help you with the smallest details of your life. For example, if you need a new car, include all the details - cost, make, model, year, registration, color, condition and mileage. If you need a spiritual gift, such as compassion, explain the nature of the problem, such as judgment or criticism, when and where it appears, with whom and how. Ask God to help you overcome it, and be willing to follow his guidance from your heart. It can help to make a list of all the things you need help with to be more specific. Ask yourself what you want out of your prayers. You can recite the list each day in prayer, ticking things off as they are answered, and adding new things as they arise.

    Pray without Ceasing

Just because God doesn’t answer your prayer when you feel like He should, doesn’t mean He’s not listening. Continue to pray, continue to trust and continue to have faith that God will never forsake you. He hears you and He will answer you. Pray without ceasing. (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

Adjust your prayer according to the will of God

There may be many things we desire - good health, more money, a better job, a new car. We all need money and other possessions to live in a material world, and God is more than happy to supply us with these things if it will bring us closer to him. But God knows what is the best possible gift for us at any moment. There are many more things that he can and will give us-gifts of the Spirit like compassion, wisdom and healing that will make us a lot happier in ourselves, and more at peace with others. So instead of asking that our prayer be answered as we want, you can ask that your prayer "be adjusted according to the will of God" to receive the answer that is best for you and for the souls whom you are praying for.

    Pray unselfishly

It’s perfectly fine to have goals, dreams, and want to be successful. BUT remember, God uses us to be a blessing to others. If you’re praying for a blessing with no intention of being a blessing to anyone else, maybe that’s the reason you’re still waiting. You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures. (James 4:3)

    Pray with a forgiving heart

This one took me a while to get. In the past, I would pray that God would bless me, just so I could smile in my haters’ face and make them envy me even more. NEGATIVE! God does not participate in foolery. So if you’re praying with hatred in your heart, I strongly suggest you squash it! Don’t block your blessings. Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you your transgressions. (Mark 11:25)
